Performance Monitor and Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI)

The PATROL for Performance Monitor and Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) KM contains the following monitor types (application classes). Each monitor type lists information about the available parameters.

Parameters contain information that PATROL uses to monitor remote computers and applications. The PATROL Wizard for Microsoft Performance Monitor and WMI differs from most KMs in that it only contains one consumer parameter. This same parameter, Value, is used for each performance monitor counter or WMI query that you create with the KM.

However, a unique instance of the Value parameter appears under unique application instances that are either named for the Performance Monitor object used or are named for a user-defined name given to a WMI query.

The following collector parameters collect the data for the PATROL Wizard for Microsoft Performance Monitor and WMI:

For information about creating parameters with the PATROL Wizard for Microsoft Performance Monitor and WMI, see the Creating the performance monitor parameters and Creating the WMI parameters.

Note

Monitor types in BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management are referred as application classes in BMC PATROL.
