Configuring Microsoft Hyper-V (menu commands)


In PATROL console, menu commands (KM commands) are options to configure the knowledge module and discover Microsoft Hyper-V components. Right-click an object to access its menu commands. 

The following menus are available on Microsoft Hyper-V:


Microsoft Hyper-V (HYPER-V) application menu

The following menu commands are available in the Microsoft Hyper-V (HYPER-V) application class. To access this menu, right-click the Microsoft Hyper-V node and select KM Commands.

Configure Hyper-V Monitoring

Displays the Configure-Hyper-V-Monitoring-dialog-box

Allows you to perform the following actions:

  • Add Hyper-V host for monitoring
  • Modify the details of a configured Hyper-V host
  • Remove a configured Hyper-V host to stop the monitoring

Hostname (HYPERV_HOST) application menu

The following menu commands are available in the Hostname (HYPER-V) application class. To access this menu, right-click the Hyper-V host name node and select KM Commands.

This menu command is applicable on standalone hosts only and not on clustered hosts.

Force Discovery

Forces application discovery on the selected standalone Hyper-V host.

Refresh Parameters

Updates parameter values for the application class.

Configure Filter Options

Displays the Configure Filter Options dialog box.

Allows you to filter virtual machines from a configured Hyper-V host.

Top Virtual Machines

Top Virtual Machines > CPU

This menu command enables you to sort the top ten virtual machines instances based on CPU utilization.

Top Virtual Machines > Memory

This menu command enables you to sort the top ten virtual machines instances based on average pressure counter.

Hyper-V Cluster name (HYPERV_CLUSTER) application menu

The following menu commands are available in the Hyper-V Cluster name (HYPERV_CLUSTER) application class. To access this menu, right-click the Hyper-V Cluster name and select KM Commands.
