Configuring Oracle VM Manager


This topic provides information about configuring the Oracle VM Manager. You can configure Oracle VM Managers and monitor the discovered repositories, Oracle VM Servers and VMs. 

On the Monitor Configuration page, click Addico_add.png to add a new monitor configuration, or select an existing monitor configuration and click Editico_edit.png to update it.

Set the following preferences on the Add Monitoring Configuration dialog.

Click Add to configure a new Oracle VM Manager for monitoring.

JAVA_HOME

By default, the KM uses JAVA Runtime Environment (JRE) that is installed with the PATROL Agent. To use your own JRE that is installed in a different location, specify the path for the JAVA home directory.

For example, if your JAVA executable exists in the /usr/java/jdk1.8.0_92/jre/bin/java path, specify /usr/java/jdk1.8.0_92/jre as the value of this field.

Oracle VM Manager Details

Oracle VM Manager Host Name

Enter the host name or the IP address of the Oracle VM Manager.

Port Number

Enter the port number. The default port number is 7002.

Enable Instance to Device Conversion

Select/clear this check box to enable/disable device conversion. Enabling this option consolidates Solaris monitoring at device level.

By default, this option is enabled (check box is selected).

Connection Configuration

User Name

Enter the username.

Password

Enter the password.

Exclude Hosts

Enter the host name or a regular expression to exclude the Oracle VM Servers from monitoring.

Include Hosts

Enter the host name or a regular expression to include the Oracle VM Servers for monitoring. By default, all the Oracle VM Servers are added for monitoring.

VM Filter Configuration

Exclude Hosts

Enter the VM name or a regular expression to exclude the virtual machines from monitoring.

Include Hosts

Enter the VM name or a regular expression to include the virtual machines for monitoring. By default, all the virtual machines are added for monitoring.

Exclude VM Templates from monitoring

Clear this check box if you want to include Oracle VM Templates for monitoring. By default, all the templates are excluded from monitoring (check box is selected).
