Guidelines

Information
Announcement Support for this product will end on December 22, 2025. To monitor Oracle databases, we recommend that you use PATROL for Oracle Enterprise Database.

Real Application Cluster Instances Member Status (Memberstatus)

This parameter checks the status of the configured RAC instances running on an Oracle RAC database cluster environment.

  • If the status of a RAC instance is mount, then the MemberStatus parameter goes into a warning state.
  • If the status of a RAC instance is down, then the MemberStatus parameter goes into an alarm state.
  • If the status of the RAC instances is a combination of mount and alarm states, then the MemberStatus parameter considers the maximum state and goes into an alarm state.

The annotation report for this parameter list the status of the RAC instances that are down and mount state. Also, if the RAC instance collection has any issue, then the MemberStatus parameter will go into an alarm state.
For example, if the listener related to the RAC instance RAC922 is not running, then this parameter will go into an alarm state with the following error:

 RAC922
-----------
ERROR:
ORA-12541: TNS:no listener
