Oracle Management Instance


This topic provides information about configuring the Oracle Database Instance by using Central Monitoring Administration.

On the Add Monitor Types dialog, with the Monitoring Profile set to Oracle Database, and the Monitor Type set to Oracle Management Instance, provide the following details:

Select this check-box to enable MGMTDB global debug.

Oracle MGMTDB Alert Log Filters

Exclude error log strings

Specify the list of strings that you want to exclude from the monitoring. Use comma (,) only to separate the error log strings.

Specify the list of strings that you want to include in the monitoring. Use comma (,) only to separate the error log strings.

Note

  • The user in configuration need to be able to connect using sqlplus into management instance and need to have the privilege to query
    dba_free_space, dba_data_files and v$diag_info tables and view.
  • By default only the status will be active. In order to monitor the alert logs and the tablespaces you need to use KM command or CMA.
  • On windows you have to add pconfig entry "/OracleConfig.GridHome" with the full path to the GRID HOME.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
