Importing and exporting monitored URLs

This feature allows you to export and import defined URLs or web pages using standard CSV (comma-separated values) files. You can generate reports on the web pages you are monitoring. These CSV files can be modified using Microsoft Excel, or another editor, and then imported into another PATROL Agent's BMC PATROL for Internet Servers configuration. You can also use information to verify product configuration.

Exporting monitored URLs

This task describes how to export a CSV file with all the data necessary to recreate monitored URLs on another host.

To export monitored URLs

1. Access the Internet Services icon.
2. Select KM Commands > Import/Export URLs >Export.
   The Confirm Export of URL Settings windows appears.
3. Click Accept.
   The Internet Services - Export URLs dialog box appears.
4. Select one of the following options:
   • Apply to all monitored web servers
   • Apply to selected web servers
     The URLs for the selected web servers are exported to PATROL_HOME/INET/ulr_listing.csv. If url_listing.csv already exists, then a backup is created, url_listing.csv.bk, before export continues.
5. Click Accept. 

Importing monitored URLs

This task describes how to import a CSV file, with all the data necessary to recreate monitored URLs on another host.

To import monitored URLs

1. Access the Internet Services icon.
2. Select KM Commands > Import/Export URLs > Import.
   The Confirm Import of URL Settings windows appears.
3. Click Accept.
   The URLs are imported from PATROL_HOME/INET/url_listing.csv. The Import URLs window appears with the results of the monitoring selections.
4. Click Accept.
5. Click Done to save the current entries and close the dialog box.
