Loading a KM

For information about how to load a KM on a particular console, click the appropriate link:

PATROL Central Operator – Windows Edition has a Loading KMs wizard with which you can select KMs and the managed systems on which they are loaded. 

  1. In the Common Tasks tab of the taskpad, click the Load Knowledge Modules icon.  
    PATROL displays the wizard.
  2. Click Next to start the wizard. 
    The wizard displays a list of managed systems on which a PATROL Agent has been installed.
  3. Select the check boxes for the managed systems on which you want to load KMs, and then click Next
    The wizard displays a list of available .kml files for each managed system selected in the previous step. Each .kml file is listed once for each managed system. You can display .km files by clearing the Show Knowledge Module Lists (KMLs) and KM Packages only checkbox.
  4. Select the check boxes for the KM/managed system pair that you want to load.
  5. Click Next, and click Finish
    PATROL loads the selected Knowledge Modules on the selected managed systems. 
  1. From the PATROL Console menu bar, choose File > Load KM
    The Load KMs dialog box displays a list of available .kml files. 
  2. Select one or more of the .kml files and click Open.  
    PATROL loads the selected Knowledge Modules on all the computers listed in the PATROLMainMap. 
  1. From the PATROL Console menu bar, choose File > Load KM
    The Load KMs dialog box displays a list of available .kml files. 
  2. Select one or more of the .kml files and click Open
    PATROL loads the selected KMs on all the computers to which your console is connected. 

PATROL Central Operator – Web Edition has a Loading Knowledge Modules wizard with which you can select KMs and the managed systems on which they are loaded. 

  1. In the Operator Home tab of the navigation area, click General Tasks
    PATROL displays the General Tasks page in the results area.
  2. Click Load Knowledge Modules
  3. In the Selecting Managed Systems window, select the managed systems on which you want to load KMs, and then click Next
    PATROL displays the Knowledge Modules window. 

    Note

    To work with all the managed systems in the list, click Select All.

  4. If necessary, change the filter option by selecting AllKMs, or KMLs.
  5. Select the KMs that you want to load.
    To load multiple KMs, hold down Ctrl and select multiple KMs, or hold down Shift and select all the KMs in a range. You can also click Select All to select all available KMs.
  6. Click Next
    PATROL displays the Loading Knowledge Modules Wizard Complete window.
  7. Click Finish.
