What's new
Detailed annotation messages
The KM provides detailed annotation messages and possible corrective actions in case of any configuration or monitoring failure for the following attributes:
- MonitoringStatus
- ConfigurationStatus
- DB2PartitionOK
- ConnToDBOK
- DB2InstanceAvailabilityPCT
- CommandStatus
- SQLQueryStatus
These annotations help you resolve the issue and configure a policy successfully.
Support for disabling parameters
The KM provides support for disabling parameters by using the Event Management KM. The following pconfig variable is used to enable this feature:
AS/EVENTSPRING/PARAM_SETTINGS/THRESHOLDS/<<Application class>>/_ANYINST_/<<Patrol parameter name>>
The value can be 0,0 0 0 0 0 0,0 0 0 0 0 0,0 0 0 0 0 0. If the first digit is 0, it indicates that the parameter data collection is disabled. Similarly, if the first digit is 1, it indicates that the data collection of the parameter is enabled.
Updated rule sets templates for configuring the IBM DB2 environment
The rule set files (.cfg) templates for configuring the IBM DB2 environment using the PATROL configuration management are updated for the following:
- DB2 JDBC connection
- DB2 Local connection
- DB2 Remote Windows connection
- DB2 Remote UNIX connection

You can now configure the DB2 diag log search commands in the monitoring policy, see Configuring after installation.
What's deprecated
Support for blackout is dropped
From this version of the KM, the support for blackout is dropped.
Support for HADR auto discover is dropped
Earlier, when you configured the HADR, the KM used to detect both primary and standby nodes automatically from the same configured environment. From this version of the KM, you need to configure environment for each node (primary and standby) separately. For more details, see Using HADR configuration.

Downloading the installation files
You can download the latest version of the KM by downloading a single KM installation file or by downloading the latest version of the Infrastructure Management-PATROL Repository. Use your preferred method of obtaining the installation files by completing one of the following procedures:
To download the PATROL for IBM DB2 installation file
Select and download the installation files for your platform; see the following table. Use your BMC Support credentials to access the EPD website. You might also be prompted to complete the Export Compliance Form.
