State
This parameter displays the current state of the WPAR.
At a point in time, the WPAR may be in any of the below mentioned states:
- Defined
- Active
- Frozen
- Paused
- Transitional
- Moving
- Broken
- Unknown
- Deleted
The parameter alarms whenever an Active WPAR stops working. The WPAR in the Defined state denotes that is has just been created and is ready for use, but it is still to be made active.
The WPAR in the Active state denotes a normal functioning virtual OS instance.
The WPAR in the Transitional state denotes the process of changing from one state to another. The three states, Frozen,Paused, and Moving, occur when you use the checkpoint or restart operations. The checkpoint is a way of taking a snapshot of the running system at an instance of time, to facilitate the restart operation of the system from that point onwards. This helps you plan moving a WPAR from one server to another.
