11.3.01 enhancements
TrueSight IT Data Analyticsversion 11.3.01 offers the following key features and enhancements:
Long-term data retention
Archiving data
The Archiving and restoring data features have been added to TrueSight IT Data Analytics 11.3.01. You can archive data to external storage for long-term data retention before the data is purged. You can choose to archive data for reasons such as:
- Regulatory compliance
- Research or Auditing
- Long-term analytics
Archiving involves taking a snapshot of collected data each day and storing those snapshots to a separate storage device. Restoring archived data requires a dedicated Indexer configured as a restore node. For more information, see Archiving data.
Index Blocks for data retention
Index Blocks
Data collection and retention are now defined in terms of Index Blocks. An Index Block is a term used to group indexes whose data have the same retention time and archive configurations. A group of data collectors mapped to the same Index Block would have the same archive and retention properties.
Self-health monitoring
Self-health monitoring of TrueSight IT Data Analytics
Self-health monitoring can provide early insights into the health of a component and this, in turn, provides an early insight into likely issues. TrueSight IT Data Analytics now generates events and displays them in the destination that you set. TrueSight IT Data Analytics sends self-health monitoring events for archiving and purging.
For more information, see Monitoring self-health of IT Data Analytics.
CLI commands
CLI command changes
The following new CLI commands have been introduced:
- The showdataavailability CLI command allows you to check the availability of archived or restored data.
- The restoresnapshots CLI Command allows you to restore data from archive by giving the start date and end date of the period for which you want to restore data.
