Exporting and modifying an SQL query from BMC Helix ITSM: Smart Reporting

You can export the SQL query of a report or dashboard before copying it to BMC Helix Dashboards. If you want, you can make changes to the default SQL query to customize the report.

To export and modify the SQL query

  1. Log in to the BMC Helix ITSM portal, expand the Applications tab and then, select Smart Reporting > Smart Reporting Console.

  2. Select the appropriate report that you want to migrate.

  3. (Optional) By default, data for the last three months is displayed, but you can choose a different time range and then click Go to display that data.
  4. Click report details ReportDetailsSmartReportingIcon.png from the navigation bar, and, if you are copying a dashboard panel, click the down arrow button SRDashboardsMoreOptions.png on the panel and click InformationReportDetailsSmartReportingIcon.png.
  5. From the SQL Statement tab, click Export SQL to export the SQL query to a notepad.

Based on the report type, you can modify the SQL query before using it in BMC Helix Dashboards. The following table provides few examples of modifying the SQL queries based on the report or dashboard types:
