BMC Server Automation

Authorization to perform an action on a system object or class of system objects. In BMC Server Automation, permissions must be defined for all system objects.

BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management

A rule associated with an object to control which users, groups, and roles can access the object and in what manner. A permission gives the user a specific type of access to the object (for example, read permission or write permission). See right.

BMC Remedy AR System

A property setting that controls who can view and change individual fields on a form and who can access certain types of objects, including active links, active link guides, and applications. See also access-control, group, role, and user.
