configuration item (CI)


A physical, logical, or conceptual entity that is part of your IT environment and has configurable attributes. A CI can be complex or simple, large or small. Examples of CIs include computer systems, processors, locations, people (users, employees, or customers), software, and business services. See also relationship.

BMC Atrium Orchestrator

A variable that persists across multiple modules within a grid. This variable is defined within a BMC Atrium Orchestrator Development Studio module by using the module configuration editor. The value for this variable can be modified within Grid Manager for active modules.
