BMC Subscription ID Admin
BMC Subscription IDs are an identifier for your company's entitled BMC products.
Subscription IDs have a default PIN that can be changed by an assigned Administrator from your organization.
If you would like to become Admin for the Subscription ID designated to your organization, please complete your BMC registration and subscription process first and contact customer_care@bmc.com.
BMC Subscription ID Admins privileges include:
- Any future requests from users at your company for the PIN for this Subscription ID will be routed to the admin for review to approve/disapprove.
- Admins will receive an automatic email when someone registers with this Subscription ID or adds the Subscription ID to their profile.
Change Subscription ID PIN
BMC Subscription ID Admins also have the ability to change the default Subscription ID PIN to another PIN if so desired. To change the PIN:
- Find the Subscription ID for which you want to change the PIN
- Click "Change Pin" on the left side of that Subscription ID
- You will need to enter the old "Pin" first in order to change to a new "Pin" and click save. If you do not know your PIN please contact customer_care@bmc.com.
Remove users from a Subscription ID
Admins can remove users from a Subscription ID under the Manage Subscription IDs tab. To remove a user:
- Click ‘Show All’ on the left next to the desired Support ID
- Find the user you'd like to remove
- Click the box to the far left for that user so it is checked
- Click the "Remove Subscription ID/User" blue button top left.
- To remove user access to "Allows to create cases" or change access to new users initially to be "Allowed to create cases" click "Show All"
- Find the user you want to remove access from and click "Edit"
- Change the access from "Yes" to "No" under the drop down selection and click save.
Only the Administrator is authorized to distribute the Subscription ID to users. Any requests for the Subscription ID PIN should be directed to the Administrator.
Add a Subscription ID to an existing user
Admins can add a Subscription IDs to an existing account for a person who is already registered and subscribed with at least one Subscription ID.
Please note: All new users need to register themselves first with a Subscription ID and Pin by going to BMC Support Central and clicking Register at the top right of the page.
To add a Subscription ID to a user who is already registered:
- Go to "Manage Subscription IDs" tab
- Click the blue button at the top “Add Subscription IDs for Registered and Subscribed Users”
- Enter:
- The Subscription ID you want to add
- The email address of the registered and subscribed user
- The PIN for the Subscription ID you are adding
- Click Submit.
Multiple Subscription ID Admins recommended
There can be more than one Admin associated to the Subscription ID. If you would like to add any additional users as Admins, please send us a written request to customer_care@bmc.com.
It is advisable to assign a minimum of two administrators to each Subscription ID.
Potential Admins will need to register first before they can be added as Admins.
