Migrating archived data

If you want to also migrate your archived data, you must perform the changes listed below and then perform the migration. Migration of archived data is available for version 9.0 or later.

To migrate BMC Remedy ITSM archived data

  1. Open the following file <installation_directory>:\Program Files\BMC Software\Migrator\migrator\DeltaDataMigration\Packages\ITSM\9\ITSM_Change_Package.xml.

  2. Update the file as shown in the snippet

    <instructions file="Remedy_Change_Management_Archive_Forms.xml" type="all" command="migrate" enabled="true"/>
  3. Save the file.
  4. Open the following file <installation_directory>:\Program Files\BMC Software\Migrator\migrator\DeltaDataMigration\Packages\ITSM\9\ITSM_Fnd_Package.xml.

  5. Update the file as shown in the snippet

    <instructions file="Remedy_Foundation_Archive_Forms.xml" type="all" command="migrate" enabled="true"/>
  6. Save the file.

  7. Open the following file: <installation_directory>:\Program Files\BMC Software\Migrator\migrator\DeltaDataMigration\Packages\ITSM\9\ITSM_SD_Package.xml.
    Update the file as shown in the snippet:

    <instructions file="Remedy_Service_Desk_Archive_Forms.xml" type="all" command="migrate" enabled="true"/>
  8. Save the file.

To migrate BMC Remedy AR System archived data

  1. Open the following file <Installation_directory>\Program Files\BMC Software\Migrator\migrator\DeltaDataMigration\Packages\ARCore\9>\AR_Core_Package.xml.

  2. Update the file as shown in the snippet

    <instructions file="AR_Archive_Forms.xml" type="all" command="migrate" configuration="" enabled="true"/>
  3. Save the file.

To migrate BMC Process Designer archived data

  1. Open the following file <Installation_directory>\Program Files\BMC Software\Migrator\migrator\DeltaDataMigration\Packages\PD\9\PD_Package.xml.

  2. Update the file as shown in the snippet: 

    <instructions file="Process_Designer_Archive_Forms.xml" type="all" command="migrate" enabled="true"/>
  3. Save the file.

To migrate BMC Remedy Knowledge Management archived data

  1. Open the following file <Installation_directory>\Program Files\BMC Software\Migrator\migrator\DeltaDataMigration\Packages\RKM\9\RKM_Package.xml.

  2. Update the file as shown in the snippet: 

    <instructions file="Knowledge_Management_Archive_Forms.xml" type="all" command="migrate" enabled="false"/>
  3. Save the file.

To migrate BMC Service Request Management archived data

  1. Open the following file <Installation_directory>\Program Files\BMC Software\Migrator\migrator\DeltaDataMigration\Packages\SRM\9\SRM_Package.xml.

  2. Update the file as shown in the snippet: 

    <instructions file="Remedy_Service_Request_Management_Archive.xml" type="all" command="migrate" enabled="false"/> 
  3. Save the file.
