Use updated support for technology stack

BMC Helix Service Management deployment supports the following technology stacks:

Kubernetes version 1.31
OpenShift version 4.17
Nginx Ingress Controller versions 1.11.4
Helm versions 3.17

Integrate with external logging solutions

You can integrate BMC Helix Service Management with the Splunk external logging system to collect pod logs.

Separate installation artifacts for BMC Helix ITSM: Smart Reporting

You can install Smart Reporting only if you have opted for extended support for Smart Reporting. Starting from BMC Helix Service Management version 25.1.01, Smart Reporting is no longer available as part of the BMC Helix Service Management installation and is installed by using a separate installer.
To install Smart Reporting, use the HELIX_SMARTREPORTING pipeline.

Use Oracle database in the database refresh pipeline

Use the database refresh pipeline for Oracle database to back up and restore Foundation data, application data, and application configurations from one environment to another. This pipeline simplifies the process of replicating complex and multistep configurations across multiple environments.

What else changed in this release

The following table lists the changes in the product behavior in this release:

BMC Helix Logging installation	You installed BMC Helix Logging by using the BMC Helix Platform Common Services installer.	The BMC Helix Platform Common Services installer does not include an option to install BMC Helix Logging. You need to install BMC Helix Logging separately by using the BMC Helix Platform CommonServices Logging Bundle. See Installing-BMC-Helix-Logging.
Changes in Redis installation	Redis was installed in HA mode, but it does not support cluster mode.	The installation of Redis in cluster mode is supported with the BMC Helix Platform Common Services version 25.1.00. The Mid Tier and Smart IT pods connect to the Redis cluster and BMC Helix Dashboards connect to the Redis high availability proxy.
Updates in BMC HelixGPT installation	BMC HelixGPT chat for BMC Helix ITSM was not available in BMC Helix Service Management.	BMC HelixGPT chat for BMC Helix ITSM is available in BMC Helix Service Management, and you can use it in your on-premises environment. For more information see, Configuring BMC HelixGPT chat for BMC Helix ITSM and Performing-the-BMC-Helix-Service-Management-installation.
Parameter removed from the HELIX_ONPREM_DEPLOYMENT pipeline	While building the HELIX_ONPREM_DEPLOYMENT pipeline, you had to provide values for the following parameters: SMARTREPORTING_SOURCE_VERSION HELIX_SMARTREPORTING_DEPLOY SMARTREPORTING_DB_NAME SMARTREPORTING_DB_USER SMARTREPORTING_DB_PASSWORD	The HELIX_ONPREM_DEPLOYMENT pipeline does not contain these parameters. These parameters are available in the HELIX_SMARTREPORTING pipeline. For more information, see Performing-the-BMC-Helix-Service-Management-installation.
