Downloading the installation files


You obtain the BMC Helix Service Management installation files by downloading them from the BMC Electronic Product Distribution (EPD) website.

Download the following installation artifacts:

  • Git repositories and artifacts that are used for BMC Helix Service Management installation
  • Deployment manager that is used for BMC Helix Platform Common Services installation
  • Database dump files
  • BMC Helix Container Access Key that is used to access the container images hosted on BMC Docker Trusted Registry (DTR) containers.bmc.com

Important

BMC Helix Service Management installation does not support installation of BMC Helix Virtual Agent and BMC Helix Integration Service.

Before you begin

  • Make sure that your system meets the system requirements.
  • Ensure that you can log on to EPD by using your Support user ID and password. You might also be prompted to complete the Export Compliance Form. If you are accessing this site for the first time, create a new EPD profile to specify the languages and platforms that you want to download. For assistance with EPD, see EPD site help.

Installation files

Select the EPD link to download the product installation files.

Description of content

The link downloads the following products and components:

  • BMC Helix Service Management
  • BMC Helix Platform services

To download the Git repositories and container access key

  1. Log in to EPD.
    You must log in with your BMC Support ID.

  2. Select Product Downloads > Product Download Tool.
  1. On the All Products tab, in the search box, search for the BMC Helix Innovation Suite OnPrem product.
  2. Click the 25.1.01 product version.

    Important

    Disable the pop up blocker. If the pop up blocker is enabled, it may block the downloading of files.

  3. In the BMC Helix Innovation Suite OnPrem page, on the Product tab, select BMC Helix Container Access Key, and click Download.

    The container-token.bmc file is downloaded. The file contains the BMC Docker Trusted Registry (containers.bmc.com) token. This token is required as a password to pull images from containers.bmc.com during setting up a Harbor registry or when performing the installation.
  4. In the BMC Helix Innovation Suite OnPrem page, on the Product tab, select BMC Helix Innovation Suite & Service Management Hotfix 1 Apps Version 25.1.01, and click Download.
    Important: Do not use the BMC Helix Innovation Suite & Service Management Apps Version 25.1.01 option to download files.

    The BMC_Helix_Innovation_Suite_And_Service_Management_Apps_Version_25.1.01.001.zip file contains the following files:

    • BMC_Remedy_Deployment_Manager_Configuration_Release_25.1.01.001.zip—This file contains the installation artifacts.
    • BMC_Remedy_Deployment_Engine_Setup_25.1.01.001.zip—This file contains BMC Deployment Engine set up files.
    • image_pull_push.sh and image_sync_to_private_registry.shThese files contain the scripts to synchronize your Harbor repository with BMC Helix Innovation Suite and BMC Helix Platform services container images in BMC DTR.
  5. Download the BMC Helix Platform services deployment files based on the BMC Helix Platform services version that you want to use.

    Important

    The BMC Helix Platform Services for Service Management package contains the same common services and data lake (BMC Helix Platform Common Services) that is a part of the BMC Deployment Manager deployment. If you have already installed BMC Helix IT Operations Management (BMC Helix ITOM), do not download this package.

    • In the BMC Helix Innovation Suite OnPrem page, on the Product tab, select BMC Helix Platform Common Services for Service Management Version 25.1.00, and click Download.

    •  In the BMC Helix Innovation Suite OnPrem page, on the Product tab, select BMC Helix Platform Common Services for Service Management Version 25.1.00.004, and click Download.

      The BMC_Helix_PCS_for_Service_Management_Version_25.1.00.004-2.tar file is downloaded. The file contains a fix for the zombie process generation issue on redis-haproxy-monitor pods and Kafka Zookeeper pods.
    • (If you are using BMC Helix Platform Common Services 25.1.00 and BMC Helix Logging) In the BMC Helix Innovation Suite OnPrem page, on the Product tab, select BMC Helix Platform CommonServices Logging Bundle, and click Download.

    • In the BMC Helix Innovation Suite OnPrem page, on the Product tab, select BMC Helix Platform Common Services for Service Management Version 24.4.00, and click Download.

    • (If you are using BMC Helix Platform Common Services 24.4.00) In the BMC Helix Innovation Suite OnPrem page, on the Product tab, select BMC Helix Platform Common Services for Service Management Version 24.4.00.001, and click Download.
      The BMC_Helix_PCS_for_Service_Management_Version_24.4.00.001 file is downloaded. The file contains a fix for the zombie process generation issue on redis-haproxy-monitor pods and Kafka Zookeeper pods, addressing the following issues:
  6. Download the database dump files based on the database type you want to use.
    • To use a Microsoft SQL Server database, in the BMC Helix Innovation Suite OnPrem page, on the Product tab, select BMC Helix Service Management MSSQL DB Dump Version 25.1.01, and click Download

    • To use an Oracle case insensitive database, in the BMC Helix Innovation Suite OnPrem page, on the Product tab, select BMC Helix Service Management Oracle Case Insensitive DB Dump Version 25.1.01, and click Download

      The ORACLE_CIS_25101_DBDUMP.zip file that contains the Oracle database dump files is downloaded.
    • BMC Helix Innovation Suite OnPrem page, on the Product tab, select BMC Helix Service Management Oracle Case Sensitive DB Dump Version 25.1.01, and click Download.

    • To use a PostgreSQL case insensitive database, in the BMC Helix Innovation Suite OnPrem page, on the Product tab, select BMC Helix Service Management Postgres Case Insensitive DB Dump Version 25.1.01, and click Download.

      The POSTGRES_CIS_25101_DBDUMP.zip file that contains the PostgreSQL database dump files is downloaded.
    • To use a PostgreSQL case sensitive database, in the BMC Helix Innovation Suite OnPrem page, on the Product tab, select BMC Helix Service Management Postgres Case Sensitive DB Dump Version 25.1.01, and click Download

      The POSTGRES_CS_25101_DBDUMP.zip file that contains the PostgreSQL database dump files is downloaded.
      • Important

        You do not need to download and restore database dump files while setting up a PostgreSQL database. The BMC Helix Service Management installation pipeline automatically restores a backup for a PostgreSQL database. You can download the database dump files and use for manual restore in case of any failures with the automated restore.

         

  7. To use BMC Helix Smart Reporting, in the BMC Helix Innovation Suite OnPrem page, on the Product tab, select BMC Helix Smart Reporting Installer Version 21.05.03, and click Download

  8. In the BMC Helix Innovation Suite OnPrem page, on the Product tab, select AR System Clients: Developer Studio, Data Import Version 25.1.01 - Windows, and click Download

    The ARSuiteKitDeveloperWindows25.1.01.zip file that contains the AR System clients installer is downloaded.
  9. In the BMC Helix Innovation Suite OnPrem page, on the Product tab, select BMC Helix CMDB Utilities Version 25.1.01, and click Download.
