Setting up an environment in Admin-Only-Mode or full mode
During the data migration process, you must enable and disable services such as alerts, escalations, flashboards, emails, and full text search. We recommend that you use the Admin-Only-Mode and full mode to perform these actions.
To set Admin-Only-Mode
- Turn off any alerts and monitoring services in your environment.
- Perform the following steps to set Admin-Only-Mode:
- In the AR System Administration Console, select System > General > Centralize Configuration > AR System Configuration Generic UI.
- From the Component Name list, select the com.bmc.arsys.server component, and select platform-fts-0.platform-fts.
- Specify the Admin-Only-Mode setting value as T.
Make sure that you repeat these steps for all the platform FTS pods in your environment.
- Perform the following steps to disable Escalations and Archive.
- In the AR System Administration Console, select System > General > Centralize Configuration > AR System Configuration Generic UI.
- From the Component Name list, select the com.bmc.arsys.server.shared component, and select *.
- Specify the Escalations setting value as F.
- Specify the Archive setting value as F.
- On your system, disable the Flashboard services.
- Perform the following steps to update the AR System Server Group Operation Ranking form.
- In the Server Group Configuration screen of the AR System Management Console, select Ranking.
- On the AR System Server Group Operation Ranking form, do the following configurations:
- Rank all processes to NULL.
Rank Administrator process to 1 in the primary server.

- On a browser, open the AR System Service Failover Whiteboard form in search mode, and turn off the following settings:
http://midTierServer:portNumber/arsys/forms/ ARSystemServer/AR+System+Service Failover+Ranking/- Normalization
Make sure that the Full text search (FTS) services are not running.
See Enabling and disabling full text search in AR System documentation.- On the AR System Email Mailbox Configuration form, disable the status of the incoming mailbox and outgoing mailbox.
- Enable the Email services.
Enable the Email Engine.

To enable the system in full mode
- Turn on any alerts and monitoring services in your environment.
- Perform the following steps to disable Admin-Only-Mode:
- In the AR System Administration Console, select System > General > Centralize Configuration > AR System Configuration Generic UI.
- From the Component Name list, select the com.bmc.arsys.server component, and select platform-fts-0.platform-fts.
- Specify the Admin-Only-Mode setting value as F.
Make sure that you repeat these steps for all the platform FTS pods in your environment.
- Perform the following steps to enable Escalations and Archive.
- In the AR System Administration Console, select System > General > Centralize Configuration > AR System Configuration Generic UI.
- From the Component Name list, select the com.bmc.arsys.server.shared component, and select *.
- Specify the Escalations setting value as T.
- Specify the Archive setting value as T.
- On your system, disable the Flashboard services.
On the AR System Server Group Operation Ranking form, rank all processes as they were ranked earlier.
