Modifying the parent-child relationship between forms
You can change the parent-child relationship between any two forms in the migration tree.
The relationships in a Migration Pack Template provided by BMC should be valid for your migration scenarios, so you should not need to modify it for an accurate migration. If you believe that the tree has an inappropriate qualification for your locally customized system, you can modify the qualification.
If you want to filter the data being migrated at any level in the tree, you can change the qualification to include your data. However, we recommended that you use migration parameters to filter data—even if you want to add a static qualification. Migration parameters apply only to an individual Runtime Template allowing you to vary a static qualification between templates.
To modify the qualification
- From the navigation bar, select Data Migration > Migration Packs.
- Select a migration pack.
- Click the Included Forms tab.
- Select the child form and click the Modify Qualification icon at the bottom right of the area that displays the qualification.
A dialog box displays the existing qualification. - Modify the qualification by using fields from the lists of fields for each form.
You can filter the field list by using the Field Name, Field ID, or Type column headers. - Click Validate at any time to check that your qualification is valid.
- Click OK at the bottom right of the dialog box to confirm the change and close the dialog box.
