This version of the software is currently available only to customers in the Controlled Availability (CA) program.

Using SQL Server Windows authentication

BMC Helix Data Manager allows you to use Microsoft SQL Server Windows authentication in place of SQL Server authentication. To enable this, modify the BMC Helix Data Manager Service account to log on as the user who will authenticate. To do this, on the Services Control panel, select the BMC Helix Data Manager Engine Service and modify the details on the Log On tab.

For a domain authenticated account, enter the domain name and user name, for example:

\\MyDOMAIN\BMC Helix Data Manager

Where the user name is not domain authenticated but has been created as a local user on the SQL Server machine, use the same user name as the local account. Set the password to the same password as the local account created on the SQL Server machine.

Map the BMC Helix Data Manager login on the SQL Server to the BMC Helix Data Manager user for the BMC Helix ITSM Database. For help, consult with your SQL Server DBA.
