Discovering, purging, and updating server references
- Before you begin, import or create a server reference set.
BMC provides a default metadata file for this purpose. Contact BMC Support for more information. - Select Discovery & Analysis > System Analysis & Administration.
- Select and environment, and click Select.
- Click the Server References tab.

- To initiate a server reference discovery, click Discover Server References.
- Confirm the server reference set you want to use, and click Create New Transform Job.

A server reference job is created. - To track the job, click the Activities tab.

- To see the discovered data, click the Discovery tab.
- To create a transform job, click the Transform tab and click Create New Transform Job.
- Select a Discovered Server Reference set, and click Create New Transformation Job.
- Use the table and form that appears to control any substitutions that will be made.
- Select a discovered field value, update it with the new value, and select the appropriate button to apply, disable, or duplicate the field mapping.

The buttons have the following effects:- Apply—Update only this field.
- Apply All—Apply the same update to all fields that contain this value.
- Disable—Mark this field so that it will not be updated.
- Disable All—Mark all fields so that they will not be updated.
- Duplicate—Create a copy of this field mapping.
- To run the transformation job, click Run Transformation Job.
You can track the progress of the job on the Activities tab.
The job process is logged to the Log tab. Errors appear on the Errors tab.
You can view updates on the Updates tab.
