Cannot connect to the Java plug-in server
If you configure FTS on a non-AR System server and arserver.exe or arserverd has trouble connecting to the remote Java plug-in server:
- Add the plug-in alias name in your primaryAR host file. For example:
<IPAddressOfFTSComputer> <computer>.<Domain>
172.23.82.228 primaryFTS.bmc.com - From primaryAR, use the telnet command to verify that you can connect to primaryFTS on port 9998:
telnet primaryFTS.bmc.com 9998 - If you have multiple network cards on primaryFTS, verify the IP address used on port 9998. Your plug-in alias should resolve this IP address.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
