BMC Remedy Approval Server is deadlocked
The approval server runs as an ARDBC plug-in. In some cases, such as when using the preview feature, the approval server makes a call back to the BMC Remedy AR System server to retrieve and compile information. This is referred to as a loopback call, because the call to the BMC Remedy AR System server occurs in response to a call from the BMC Remedy AR System server. If the BMC Remedy AR System server queues are overloaded, loopback calls can lead to a deadlock, in which case the BMC Remedy AR System server stops running until the calls to the plug-in server time out.
To prevent this, the approval server requires that the BMC Remedy AR System server have a reserved RPC queue for loopback calls from the plug-in server. If you do not configure this, the preview feature will not work. See Private queues for loopback calls.
