Docs Migration plug-in configuration

The Docs Migration plug-in converts an old Remedy Knowledge Management (RKM) System (7.1/7.2/7.5 non-AR System based) article to a BMC Remedy AR System-based RKM article.

Plug-in type

Docs Migration is a Java-based Filter API plug-in.

AR System server connectivity

The Docs Migration plug-in connects to the AR System server by using the BMC Remedy AR System Java API. The Docs Migration plug-in (rkm-docs-migrator.jar) is installed in the C:\BMC Software\BMCRemedyITSMSuite\Shared_Components\plugins folder.

Configuration information

When the Docs Migration plug-in is running, you must copy the data folder from the old RKM system to the AR System server and provide the absolute folder path during conversion.

The configuration information of the Docs Migration plug-in is available in the AR System Administration: Plugin Server Configuration form.

The AR System Administration: AR System Configuration Generic UI form includes the Server-Plugin-Alias setting that points to the correct plug-in server alias:
Server-Plugin-Alias: RMDY.ITSM.RKM.DOCSMIGRATION RMDY.ITSM.RKM.DOCSMIGRATION myServer:9999

See Updating-configuration-settings-by-using-the-AR-System-Configuration-Generic-UI-form, Configuring-java-plug-in-servers and Setting-plugin-server-configuration-options.

The log4j_pluginsvr.xml file contains the plug-in log level information. For example:

<logger additivity="true" name="com.bmc.itsm.rkm">
   <level value="warn"/>
 </logger>
