Cross-referencing blank passwords
When the Cross Reference Blank Password option is selected, BMC Remedy AR System attempts to authenticate through the AREA LDAP Configuration form. Ensure that the user password is set in the AREA LDAP Configuration form and you do not provide a password on the User form in BMC Remedy AR System. In this case, if the user provides a password, the user passes authentication. If the user does not provide a password, the login attempt is rejected.
To cross-reference blank passwords
- Open the AR System Administration: Server Information form, and click the EA tab.
- In the External Authentication Server RPC Program Number field, enter 390695. For information about authentication behavior for 390695 RPC program number, see AREA-behavior-when-the-RPC-program-number-is-390695.
- Select the Cross Reference Blank Password check box.
- Click Apply and OK.
