Changing the development mode


The current mode of BMC Remedy Developer Studio is displayed in the status bar:

By default, BMC Remedy Developer Studio opens in Best Practice Customization mode. If you change modes, the mode selected opens by default with the application is started.

When you are working in Base Development mode, the following banner appears below the toolbar. This banner can only be hidden by changing the mode.

 To change the development mode

If your group permissions allow access to both modes, use the following steps to switch modes:

Save any changes and close any open editors and object lists, before proceeding with these steps.

  1. From BMC Remedy Developer Studio, select File > Switch Mode, and select one of the following modes:

    • Best Practice Customization
    • Base Development

    1. When switching modes you must confirm by clicking OK, that you are aware all opened object list views, and all editors, close when you switch modes.

    2. Additionally, if you are switching to Base Development mode, you must activate the check box and click OK, to confirm you are aware customizations made in this mode might be lost if you upgrade.

  2. In the Save resource dialog box, click Yes to save your current changes and switch the mode.
     If you click No, your unsaved changes are lost and the mode changes.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
