SOAP headers and authentication

This section describes how BMC Remedy AR System server authenticates requests that come in to a web service published by BMC Remedy AR System server, and how to configure authentication information in order to consume a BMC Remedy AR System server or other external web service. Authentication information consists of a user name and password, which are included in the SOAP packet, usually in the header.

Warning

Authentication information in SOAP headers or other web services communication can be in plain text. To ensure the security of the authentication information in a SOAP header in this case, configure the web server to use https.
