Setting content clipping for cell-based tables

If the Content Clipping property of a cell-based table is set to True, cell-based tables display as many cells as can fit in the table without displaying a scroll bar. Content clipping can only be set when table chunking is enabled. For more information about setting this property, see Content Clipped.

Content clipping can be used for a cell-based table when:

  • The cell-based table is in a panel with an XY or Fill layout style
  • The cell-based table is in a View field
  • The cell-based table is visible

Content clipping is disabled for a cell-based table when:

  • The cell-based table is within a panel that has Fit To Content or Flow Layout set to True. Content clipping will be disabled. This allows the contents of the table to control the size of its container.
  • The cell-based table is hidden or inside a collapsed panel.
Warning

Note

Even when content clipping is enabled for a cell-based table, a vertical and/or horizontal scrollbar display if the browser window is too small to display a single cell in the table area.

Content clipping does not change the meaning of chunk size. However, some of the information strings displayed in the table header in a browser are different when content clipping is enabled. See Number of Entries Returned.
