Run Process action and access control

If the process executed with the Run Process command runs on the server, it uses the permissions of the user who started the BMC Remedy AR System server. Make sure to configure BMC Remedy AR System server and network access permissions to correctly enforce access control for processes.

Important

For active links that run processes on the server, BMC Remedy AR System provides a security feature that allows you to limit active link processes to only execute in a specified directory.

Example:

To execute an external program, use the following syntax:

$PROCESS$ @ServerA: C:/temp/process.exe

If it is the current server, you can use @@ instead of @serverName.
