Identifying fields added to view overlays


BMC Developer Studio provides multiple ways to identify the fields that are added to view overlay. The following topics describe how to identify the fields added to a view overlay:

To display the view overlay marker

A field that is added to a view overlay has a special marker that identifies it as part of the view overlay.

  1. Open the form in Best Practice Customization mode.
  2. Click Layout > Show customization type.
    Fields added to the view overlay show a special icon. For example, the Assigned To and Modified Date fields in the following figure show the marker indicating that these fields are added to a view overlay:

To view the value in the View Customization column of Outline view

  1. Open the form in Best Practice Customization mode.
  2. Open the Outline view of the form.

The value in the View Customization column indicates whether a field is added to a view overlay.

If the value in the View Customization column is True,  it indicates that the field is added to the view overlay.

To view the view overlay icon

  1. Open the form in Best Practice Customization mode.
  2. Open the Outline view of the form.

The fields in the Field ID list of the Outline view show a special icon for the fields that are added to a view overlay.
The following figure shows that the field that has Field ID 1 is added to the view overlay.
