Configuring BMC Service Request Management to rename the server
The following procedure describes how to update the server name for BMC Service Request Management.
- In a browser, open the Application Settings form:
- Go to Administrator Console > Application Administration Console.
- Click the Custom Configuration tab.
- Select Service Request Management > Advanced > Application Settings.

- In the Mid Tier Path field, replace the mid-tier server name with the new mid-tier server name and the port number (for example, newMidTierServerName:8080/arsys).
- Update the server name in the PDL:ApplicationSettings form.
- In a browser, open the PDL:ApplicationSettings form.
(Click the image to expand it.) - In the Hostname field, enter the newServerName.
- In a browser, open the PDL:ApplicationSettings form.
- Update the server name in the Report form.
- In a browser, open the Report form.
(Click the image to expand it.) - In the Server field, enter the oldServerName, and perform a search.
- Replace the oldServerName with the newServerName.
- In a browser, open the Report form.
If you are using advanced interface forms (AIFs), update the Server field in each configuration entry with the new server name.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
