Receiving alerts through Twitter

Consider the following example:

Amy is a BMC Remedy AR System user who wants to receive alerts through a Twitter account. Amy first creates a Twitter account. She then logs on to the BMC Remedy AR System server as an administrator and makes sure that the Notify action in BMC Remedy Developer Studio is set to Alert. Using the new AR System Alert Twitter User Authorization form, Amy maps her user name to her twitter account. Amy starts receiving alerts through Twitter.

  1. If you do not already a Twitter account, create one.
Every user who wants to receive alerts through Twitter, must have a Twitter account.

    Note

If you are configuring Twitter, you must have administrative rights.

  2. Make sure that the Notify action in BMC Remedy Developer Studio is set to Alert.
     For more information, see Notify-action.
  3. As an administrator, map the user to a Twitter account in BMC Remedy AR System.
For more information, see Mapping the user to a Twitter account.

You can now receive BMC Remedy ITSM Suite alerts through your Twitter account. For more information, see Receiving BMC Remedy ITSM Suite alerts.
