Enable chat feature for AR system users
To enable chat feature for AR system users:
- On Mid-Tier Home Page, click Application > Administration Console > Application Administration Console > Custom Configuration tab.
- On the Custom Configuration tab, click Foundation > Advance Options > System Configuration Settings > System Settings form.
- Select the Yes check box for Enable Chat field to enable the chat feature for AR system users.
- Click Save to save the settings.
Log off from Mid-Tier and restart it. This is required for Mid-Tier to reflect the above changes.
The following Chat information is displayed on the BMC Remedy ITSM landing console:
Chat icon on a regular formChat icon — Displays the status of the user. For example, Online (green), Busy (red), Away (yellow), or Offline (white). This Chat icon also has animation to display notifications.
Chat drop-down on the regular form
Drop-down icon — Opens a drop-down menu that can be used to perform the following actions:
- Change status
- View and respond to new notifications
Open or focus on running conversations
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
