Uploading the Foundation data spreadsheets

The following image shows the process of loading the Foundation data in bulk:

You can upload the updated Excel spreadsheets and upload them to BMC Helix Platform so that the Foundation data is available for processing.

1. Log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio and navigate to the Workspace tab.
2. Click the Data Management Console application. 
   The details for the Data Management Console application are displayed.
3. Click Visit Deployed Application.The application details are displayed.
4. Click Data Load.  A list of uploaded spreadsheets and their load status is displayed.

5. Click Upload New.The Upload Data File dialog box is displayed.

   You must upload the Foundation data in the following order:

   category data > location data > organization data > person data > association data > city data.
   Enter values for the following fields:

   Element	Description
   Attachment name	Specify the name of the spreadsheet that contains the updated Foundation data.
   File Description	Provide a description for the updated spreadsheet.
   Attachment Type	Specify whether you want to upload a .xlsx file or a ZIP folder.
   Attachment in	To upload a .xlsx file, browse and select the updated .xlsx spreadsheet that you want to upload.To upload a ZIP folder, perform the following tasks: Browse and select the updated ZIP folder that you want to upload. In the xlsx Name field, enter the name of the .xlsx file that must be uploaded.BMC Helix Platform processes only one .xlsx file from the ZIP folder. The ZIP folder can contain can contain other file types such as .png file and more than one .xlsx file. However, BMC Helix Platform only recognizes the spreadsheet named in the xlsx Name field and ignores all other spreadsheets. Note: You can upload only one .xlsx file or a ZIP folder at a time. Warning: Any uploads that run longer than an hour are not processed. Therefore, you must upload the Foundation data in smaller batches and run the data jobs for each spreadsheet.

6. Click Save.

The updated Excel spreadsheet is uploaded to BMC Helix Platform. You can then run the load process to import the Foundation data from the spreadsheet to BMC Helix Platform.
