Installing, reinstalling, or uninstalling codeless applications


After you create the deployment packages for a codeless application, you can install the install package from BMC Helix Innovation Studio. You can also reinstall an application that was modified by using Maven archetype or an earlier version of the application. You can also uninstall the unnecessary applications from Excerpt named productname was not found in document xwiki:Service-Management.Innovation-Suite.BMC-Helix-Platform.helixplatform._inclusionsLibrary.WebHome..

Before you begin

Ensure that you complete the following actions:

  • Create a codeless application in Innovation Studio
  • Create an install package or an update package from Excerpt named productname was not found in document xwiki:Service-Management.Innovation-Suite.BMC-Helix-Platform.helixplatform._inclusionsLibrary.WebHome..

    Important

    If you want to view the deployment package contents, use the 7 Zip utility to extract the contents of the ZIP file. You cannot extract the contents of the install ZIP file using the Windows Zip utility or Mac archive utility.

  • Download the install package or update package from the version control system used by your project.

To install applications in BMC Helix Innovation Studio

As an administrator, you can install a full installation package by using Excerpt named productname was not found in document xwiki:Service-Management.Innovation-Suite.BMC-Helix-Platform.helixplatform._inclusionsLibrary.WebHome.. Installing a full installation package enables you to deploy the application for the first time to development, test, or production environments. If an application is already installed, installing a full install package of the same application overwrites the application data.

  1. Log in to Excerpt named productname was not found in document xwiki:Service-Management.Innovation-Suite.BMC-Helix-Platform.helixplatform._inclusionsLibrary.WebHome. and navigate to the Workspace tab. 
  2. Click Install.  
  3. Browse and select the ZIP file of the install package that you downloaded to your local computer.

    Browse and select the ZIP file of the deployment package that you copied to the environment.
    The status of the installation process is displayed in the Install dialog box. After the process is completed, click Close.

The application is installed in Excerpt named productname was not found in document xwiki:Service-Management.Innovation-Suite.BMC-Helix-Platform.helixplatform._inclusionsLibrary.WebHome. and is displayed in the Workspace. You can then customize the application by adding record definitionsview definitionsprocesses, or rules.

To reinstall codeless applications in BMC Helix Innovation Studio

You can reinstall an application that was updated in Maven archetype or reinstall an earlier version of the application. During reinstallation, BMC Helix Platform overwrites the definitions in the existing application. The record definitions are retained; however, data of newly added record fields is lost. The application version is overwritten with the reinstalled application's version, which is specified during packaging and exporting the application or in Maven archetype. 

  1. Log in to Excerpt named productname was not found in document xwiki:Service-Management.Innovation-Suite.BMC-Helix-Platform.helixplatform._inclusionsLibrary.WebHome. and navigate to the Workspace tab.
  2. Select the codeless application that you want to reinstall.
    The application details are displayed.
  3. Select Actions > Reinstall.  
  4. In the Warning! dialog box, click OK to proceed.
  5. Browse and select the ZIP file of the install package or update package that you want to reinstall.

    The status of the installation process is displayed in the Reinstall dialog box.

  6. After the process is completed, click Close

    If the reinstallation fails, see Troubleshooting-application-deployment-issues.

The codeless application is reinstalled in Excerpt named productname was not found in document xwiki:Service-Management.Innovation-Suite.BMC-Helix-Platform.helixplatform._inclusionsLibrary.WebHome.. You can then modify the codeless application by adding record definitionsview definitionsprocesses, or rules.

To uninstall codeless applications or libraries from BMC Helix Innovation Studio

You can undeploy or uninstall the tenant-specific applications only.

  1. Log in to Excerpt named productname was not found in document xwiki:Service-Management.Innovation-Suite.BMC-Helix-Platform.helixplatform._inclusionsLibrary.WebHome. and navigate to the Workspace tab.  
  2. Select the codeless application or library that you want to uninstall.
    The application details are displayed.
  3. Select Actions > Uninstall.  
  4. In the Warning! dialog box, click OK to proceed.Excerpt named platformname was not found in document xwiki:Service-Management.Innovation-Suite.BMC-Helix-Platform.helixplatform._inclusionsLibrary.WebHome. starts uninstalling the application. The status of the installation process is displayed in the Uninstall dialog box.
  5. After the process is completed, click Close. If the uninstallation fails, see Troubleshooting-application-deployment-issues.

The codeless application is uninstalled from Excerpt named productname was not found in document xwiki:Service-Management.Innovation-Suite.BMC-Helix-Platform.helixplatform._inclusionsLibrary.WebHome..
