Capturing events using BWF Event Button component


The BWF Event Button component is available in the Shared Components section of the View designer and is visible only if the Shared Components bundle is deployed.

Use the BWF Event Button component to capture events generated by UI components or by the Dispatch Event action, and then trigger the registered actions.

To configure the BWF Event Button component

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio and navigate to the Workspace tab.
  2. Select the application for which you want to capture the events.
  3. On the Views tab, select the name of the view definition to which you want to add the BWF Event Button component.
  4. From Palette, drag the BWF Event Button component to the canvas.
  5. In the Properties pane, click Settings Settings icon.png, and then specify the properties as indicated in the following table:

On Load

Use the toggle key to enable or disable the triggering of registered actions on loading the button.

You might want to enable it all the time or when a certain condition is true.

You can select one of the following options:

  • All the time
  • When condition is true

 

Delay (On Load)

Add a time delay (in milliseconds) before triggering registered actions after the button is loaded.

On Change

Use the toggle key to enable or disable the triggering of registered actions when the parameters defined in the expression change state.

You can select one of the following options:

  • All the time
  • When condition is true

On Event

Define name of the event that needs to be captured. 

ActionsAdd actions that the button should trigger.

6. Click Save.
