Troubleshooting CAI RESTful plug-in issues

Use the Command Automation Interface (CAI) RESTful plug-in to establish communication between the Change management application and BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management Server.

To troubleshoot CAI RESTful plug-in issues

  1. Verify the CAI RESTful plug-in configuration.
    For more information, see CAI-RESTful-plug-in-configuration.
For more information about the AR System Administration: Plugin Server Configuration form and AR System Administration: AR System Configuration Generic UI form, see Configuring Java plug-in servers and Updating-configuration-settings-by-using-the-AR-System-Configuration-Generic-UI-form.
  2. Troubleshoot common plug-in-related issues.
For more information, see the General-approach-for-troubleshooting-plug-in-issues.
  3. If you receive the Exception org.apache.axis2.AxisFault: Transport error: 302 Error: Moved Temporarily error message, perform the following workaround:
    • Check whether the End Point web Service URL is specified.
This URL should include the fully qualified hostname of the server where the web service is hosted. The error occurs when the BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management server tries to connect to Change web services.
    • Check whether the unenforced Web Service Endpoint URIs are already integrated with BMC Atrium SSO.
If the URIs are not integrated with BMC Atrium SSO, perform the following steps:
      1. Log on to BMC Atrium SSO server with admin credentials (Log on to https://hostname:8443/atriumsso).
      2. Select Access Control tab > (Top Level Realm) link > Agents tab > J2EE tab > <mid-tier agent> link > Application tab > Not Enforced URI Processing area.
      3. Add the /arsys/services/ and /arsys/WSDL/ URIs and click Add.
      4. After adding all of the URIs, go to the top of the page and click Save.
If you browse away without clicking Save, your changes will be lost and you have to re-enter the URIs.
      5. Restart the Mid Tier after the URIs are updated for the changes to take effect.
  4. To further investigate the issue, enable the following logs:

To enable logs for the CAI RESTful plug-in

  1. In a browser, open the AR System Administration Console, and select System > General > Plugin Server Configuration.
  2. On the Plugin Server Configuration form, from the Plugin Server Instance list, select the instance for which you want to enable logs.
  3. Go to the Plugin Server Configuration tab.
  4. In the Logging Configurations area, from the Log Level list, select DEBUG.
  5. Click Apply
The arjavaplugin.log file generates the debug logs for the CAI RESTful plug-in.
