Registration plug-in configuration

The Registration plug-in provides the interface for the RKM user to register new knowledge sources and to modify, remove, enable, and disable knowledge sources. Use the Registration Wizard to select the knowledge source type that you want to modify. During the registration process, you can select the following source types:

  • Searchable Item—Register AR forms as knowledge sources that are only searchable. No metadata or life cycle is saved or managed.
  • Knowledge Base Item—Register external files or AR forms. Metadata is saved and managed. Life cycle management is optional for AR forms.

Plug-in type

Registration is a Java-based Filter API plug-in.

AR System server connectivity

The Registration plug-in connects to the AR System server when a Filter API action or Service call occurs. The Registration plug-in (rkm-registration.jar) is installed in the C:\BMC Software\BMCRemedyITSMSuite\Shared_Components\plugins folder.

The configuration information of the Registration plug-in is available in the AR System Administration: Plugin Server Configuration form.
