Run Process action and access control

If the process executed with the Run Process command runs on the server, it uses the permissions of the user who started the AR System server. Make sure to configure AR System server and network access permissions to correctly enforce access control for processes.

Important

For active links that run processes on the server, AR System provides a security feature that allows you to limit active link processes to only execute in a specified directory. For more information on the security features and Run Process options, see Active-Link-Dir, Active-Link-Shell and Allow-Backquote-In-Process-String in ar-cfg-or-ar-conf-options-A-B .

To execute an external program, use the following syntax:

$PROCESS$ @ServerA: C:/temp/process.exe

If it is the current server, you can use @@ instead of @serverName.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
