Viewing user license information

The Manage User Licenses form displays information about the registered and current users on the selected server. The registered user information is the information submitted for each user in the User form. See Creating-and-modifying-users.

Before you begin

You must have one of the following permissions to access the Manage User Licenses screen:

  • AR System Administrator—Can view and release a license
  • Licensing Viewer—Can view a license
  • Licensing Administrator—Can view and release a license

To view user license information

  1. In a browser, open the AR System Administration Console, and select System > Application > Users/Groups/Roles > License Review. The Manage User Licenses form is displayed.

  2. From the Users Category list, select one of these options:

    Option

    Description

    Server - Current Users

Displays the following information for each user connected to AR System through an AR System license:

    • Name of the user
    • Type of AR System license assigned
    • Time when the license was granted
    • Connect time during the current session
    • Time that the user last accessed the server during this session
    • Floating license pool

    Server - Registered Users

Displays the following information for all users known to AR System with an AR System license:

    • Name of the user
    • Type of AR System license assigned
    • Default notification mechanism
    • Email address

If your User form contains more than 30,000 users, the Server - Registered Users option might not work well. Instead, open a User form and search for the registered users to view the information about users with an AR System license.

    Server - Invalid Users

Displays the number of users who are locked out of the browser because of too many bad password attempts. To reset an invalid account, reset the user's password.

To set a maximum number of passwords attempts, enter the number in the Max Number of Password Attempts field in the AR System Administration: Server Information form (Configuration tab).

To turn the feature off (unlimited number of bad passwords allowed), set the number to 0 (the default). You can also check for invalid users by using the driver program with the glu command. See Using-the-driver-program-from-the-command-line.

    Application - Current Users

Displays the following information for each user connected to AR System through an Integration System Vendor (ISV) license:

    • Name of the user
    • Type of AR System license assigned
    • Time when the license was granted
    • Connect time during the current session
    • Time that the user last accessed the server during this session
    • Name of the licensed application

    Application - Registered Users

Displays the following information for all users known to AR System with an Integration System Vendor (ISV) license:

    • Name of the user
    • Type of AR System license assigned
    • Name of the licensed application

    Bundled - Current Users

Displays the following information for current users:

    • Name of the user
    • Type of AR System license assigned
    • Time when the license was granted
    • Connect time during the current session
    • Time that the user last accessed the server during this session
    • License Name

    Bundled - Registered Users

Displays the following information for registered users:

    • Name of the user
    • Type of AR System license assigned
    • License Name
  3. Select one of the following options:

    User categories

    Task details

Server - Current Users, Server - Registered Users , and Server - Invalid Users

From the License Type list, select the license type for the category of users that you want to view.

The Write License Pool column shows the name of the current group (pool) from which the user's Floating license was acquired. At another time, if a license is acquired from a different pool to which the user belongs, that pool name is displayed.

For Application - Current Users and  Application - Registered Users

From the Licensed Applications list, select Application name.

For  Bundled - Current Users and  Bundled - Registered Users

From the Bundled Licenses list, select the bundled license to which the currently logged-in user belongs.

  4. Click Close.

Overview of the Managing Licenses screen

The Managing Licenses screen offers similar functionality as that of the Manage User Licenses form. Use this screen to manage licenses globally for a server group.
