Customizing definitions
Customization status
Definitions can have any of the following customization statuses:
- Customized–Status if a tenant or a user has customized the definition.
- Not Customized–Status if a tenant or a user has not customized the definition.
- Not Applicable–Status if the definition cannot be customized by a tenant or a user.
For example, you can view the customization status for record definition on the Records tab, as shown in the following image:
To customize a record definition
- Log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio and navigate to the Workspace tab.
- Select the application for which you want to customize the definitions.
- On the Records tab, select the record definition that you want to customize and click the record name.
In the Record designer, change the properties and permissions for the record.
For example, you can change the field properties, add a field, add custom permissions, modify base permissions and so on.
Click Save.
The customization status of the record changes to Customized.
You can follow the same procedure to customize view definitions, association definitions, and named list definitions.
To revert customization
- To revert all the customizations for a record, on the Record tab, click the Revert Customization option available.
- To revert the customizations for a field, in the Record designer, select the field. In the Details pane, click the Revert Customization option.
You can follow the same procedure to revert customizations for view definitions, association definitions, and named list definitions.
Your application users can customize record definitions, view definitions, association definitions, and named list definitions, processes, and rules of your application. By default, these definitions are not customizable. You can make them available for customization through designers in BMC Helix Innovation Studio. To make a definition available for customization, you can use the corresponding designer for the definition in BMC Helix Innovation Studio. For example, you can make the record definition available for customization by using the record designer.
