Configuring the IBM Watson Tone Analyzer service
To leverage the IBM Watson Tone Analyzer service in an application, you must provide the Tone Analyzer credentials in BMC Helix Innovation Studio, and add the tone score threshold. The default value of the tone score threshold is 0.5. This value determines whether a tone identified by the Tone Analyzer service should be included in the analysis results.
Before you begin
Make sure that:
- You have subscribed to the appropriate service license to configure the Tone Analyzer service.
- The administrator has configured and enabled the Tone Analyzer service.
- You have set the correct region for the IBM Watson Tone Analyzer service. For more information, see Configuring-cognitive-service-for-custom-applications-by-using-IBM-Watson-activated-by-BMC.
You have the API key of the Tone Analyzer service instance. You can Copy the credentials by logging in to IBM Cloud dashboard.
To configure the Tone Analyzer service API key
- Log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio and navigate to the Administration tab.
- Select Cognitive and chatbot > Cognitive service.
- From the Configure list, select Cognitive service connections.
- Click the IBM Watson Tone Analyzer section.
- In API key, enter the key that you received earlier.
- To test the connection, click Test connection.
- After verifying the connection is successful, click Save.
You have configured the connection between BMC Helix Innovation Studio and the IBM Watson Tone Analyzer service.
To specify the tone score threshold
To change the default value of the tone score threshold, perform the following steps:
- Log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio and navigate to the Administration tab.
- Select Cognitive and chatbot > Cognitive service.
- From the Configure list, select Tone analyzer.
- In the Tone score threshold, enter a value between 0.5 and 1.0.
- Click Save.
