Receiving alerts through Twitter

Users can receive alerts through Twitter. Consider this example: Amy is a AR System user who wants to receive alerts through a Twitter account. Amy first creates a Twitter account. She then logs on to the AR System server as an administrator and makes sure that the Notify action in Developer Studio is set to Alert. Using the new AR System Alert Twitter User Authorization form, Amy maps her user name to her twitter account. Amy starts receiving alerts through Twitter.

To receive alerts through Twitter

  1. If you do not already a Twitter account, create one.
Every user who wants to receive alerts through Twitter, must have a Twitter account.

If you are configuring Twitter, you must have administrative rights.

  2. Make sure that the Notify action in Developer Studio is set to Alert.
    For more information, see Defining-a-Notify-action-for-email-alerts-or-other-applications.
  3. As an administrator, map the user to a Twitter account in Remedy AR System.
