Avoiding infinite loops

The information in this topic is applicable only for on-premises deployments.

If the Duplicate Request ID Action specified in the mapping is Overwrite, do not transfer requests with ownership.

The combination of transferring ownership and overwriting existing requests in a chained environment can create an infinite loop. By default, AR System protects you against infinite loops by providing automatic loop detection. If you need to update the original request, however, perform the following procedure to override this protection.

To override loop detection

  1. In Developer Studio, open the DSO Transfer or DSO Return subpanel.
  2. On the If Actions panel in the filter or escalation editor, select the Override Loop Detection check box.

Warning

If you shut down loop protection, you risk creating infinite loops and overwriting the original record in a distributed transfer or distributed return operation.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
