Creating an application configuration for defining search data sets


After crawling the knowledge articles that you want to include in the cognitive search, you can create an in-bundle configuration UI. Administrators use this UI to create search data sets. 

To create an in-bundle application configuration

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio and navigate to the Workspace tab. 
  2. Select the BMC Chatbot or custom application in which you need to create the in-bundle configuration for cognitive search.
  3. Click the Configurations tab.
  4. Select New > In-bundle settings.
  5. In the New In-bundle settings dialog box, specify the following properties and click Save.

    Component name

    Indicates the name for the configuration that is the name of the in-bundle setting.

    Enter an appropriate component name, such as Cognitive Search.

    View

    Select a view definition from the list.

    Enable access from

    Specifies whether you want to show the configuration in the application, or in BMC Helix Innovation Studio, or both.

    Select either In BMC Helix Innovation Studio, Application, or Both.

    Component Label

    Specifies a unique label for the configuration, which appears as a setting on the Administration tab.

    Enter an appropriate label, such as Chatbot Cognitive Search.

    Permissions

    Defines the permissions associated with the setting.
    For information about permissions, see Roles-and-permissions.

    You can add permissions for a group or a role.
     

    First Menu

    Defines the first menu that gets displayed on the BMC Helix Innovation Studio Administration tab.

    Enter an appropriate menu name, such as My application.

    Second Menu

    Defines the second menu that gets displayed on the BMC Helix Innovation Studio Administration tab.

     

    After you create the application configuration, it is displayed in the Settings section on the Administration tab. The following image displays an example configuration created by using the example values:

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
