Configuring remote AR System servers for DSO
The information in this topic is applicable only for on-premises deployments.
To enable the local Distributed Server Option (DSO) server to communicate with remote AR System server
On the remoteAR System server, perform these tasks:
On the localAR System server, open the AR System Administration: Server Information form.
Click the Connection Settings tab.
In the Connection Settings tab, open the DSO Server tab.
Enter the following information in the tables on the tab by clicking the appropriate table cell:
Server Name—The name of the remote AR System server If you enter data in both tables, you must enter the server name in both tables.
RPC Program Number—The RPC program number dedicated to DSOon the remote AR System server, if any. If this field is blank, a value of 0 is entered, and the local DSOserver communicates with the remote AR System serverthrough the fast and list queues. For more information, see Assigning-an-RPC-program-number-to-DSO.
Port—If the remote AR System serveris running behind a firewall, that server's TCP/IP port number. If this field is blank, a value of 0 is entered, and the system uses a portmapper on the remote AR System serverto locate the appropriate port number. For more information, see Setting ports and RPC numbers.
Masked editing is not supported in tables on forms. Therefore, when you enter a password in this field, it is visible. After you save your changes in step 6, the password is masked.
Click OK.
Restart the local AR System serverto make these settings take effect.
Repeat this procedure for each remote AR System serverthat the local DSOserver must communicate with.
