Enabling alert notifications
The alert notifications are available only for on-premises deployments.
AR System server uses the installed alert forms and related workflows to maintain a list of registered alert users, to store pending alerts, and to display each user's alerts in an alert list.
As an application developer, you can configure an application to notify users about alerts by using the Notify workflow action and the alert delivery mechanism. When the workflow runs, it records alerts as new requests in the Alert Events form. Users can then view their alerts in the alert list on a browser.
Registering users for the appropriate alert types allows your application to send alerts to a plug-in. This plug-in server delivers the alerts to various destinations outside of AR System, such as web services or social networking services.
The Alert Events form is included in the AR System installation. It contains important information such as the alert message, identification details of the source request, the intended recipient's name, and the alert status.

The Read field is set to "X" when the user opens the alert. The Sent Successfully field is an indication of whether the Alert was sent successfully. If a user is registered for more than one alert destination, this field is set if the alert is delivered successfully to any one of the destinations. Use of this field is optional and is controlled by the Update Sent Flag field in the AR System Alert User Registration form. For more information, see Registering users for alerts.
You cannot delete the Alert Events form and its original fields, but you can add fields and workflow to the form.
