Defining and deploying data and object packages
The Deployment Application plug-in provides the following capabilities:
- Import and export definitions and data
- Call the Analyzer module to validate that a package meets the required standard
- Add a checksum to the package if the package meets the requirements
- Verify the checksum for a package
- Encapsulate the contents of a package into a single zip file
- Extract the contents of a package from a single zip file.
Perform the following tasks by using the Deployment Application:
Task | Action | Reference |
---|---|---|
1. | Access the AR System Deployment Management console with appropriate permissions. | |
2. | Deployment package is automatically created when a package deployment or a rollback is triggered in the AR System Deployment Management console. | |
3. | Define a package with workflow object definitions, data, and object that you want to deploy in different environments. | |
4. | (Optional) Define a precheck qualification to validate preconditions for deployment, such as the version, or to validate content, such as a form. | |
5. | Validate a package with specified set of rules. | |
6. | Import or export the package across environments by using the AR System Deployment Management console. | |
7. | (Optional) After a package is successfully deployed, archive the package by using the AR System Deployment Management console. |
Alternatively, you can use a command-line interface (CLI) to promote data and definitions across development, QA, and production environments.
For more information, see Building-and-deploying-packages-by-using-the-CLI
However, you must manually move the following types of objects between environments:
- Groups
- Roles
- Distributed Pool
