Support for Microsoft Internet Explorer version 11 is deprecated

As announced, support for Microsoft Internet Explorer version 11 is now deprecated. We encourage you to switch to other fully supported browsers listed for BMC Helix Innovation Studio in the BMC Solution and Product Availability and Compatibility utility.

Support for multitenancy in BMC Helix Innovation Suite is discontinued

Starting with version 21.02, BMC does not support the use of multitenancy with BMC Helix Innovation Suite.

BMC Helix Innovation Studio (formerly known as BMC Helix Platform) is a part of the single tenant BMC Helix Innovation Suite that consolidates the capabilities of Action Request System and BMC Helix Innovation Studio.

What else changed in this release

From this release, note the following significant changes in the product behavior:

Update to selecting approvers while configuring general approval flows	When you configure a general approval flow, you can select approvers by filtering specific approvers from functional roles, primary organizations, business units, departments, support groups, and people or define a qualification or both.	When you configure a general approval flow, you can select approvers by filtering specific approvers from functional roles, company, people, or from the list of the fields on the record definition in the Available Approvers list. This enables you to narrow your selection by limiting the approvers and not select the entire group or organization. For more information, see Configuring-approval-flows.
Support for cross launch from BMC Helix ITSM: Smart Reporting to BMC Helix Virtual Agent and BMC Helix Business Workflows.	You can cross launch from BMC Helix ITSM: Smart Reporting to Mid Tier only. Removal of Developer ID	When you create a Bundle project using archetype, a Developer ID is assigned to the smart bundle by the archetype. Every definition deployed with the smart bundle has a Developer ID property which is used to identify the organization that creates the definition.	BMC Helix Innovation Suite uses the Developer ID only as a namespace. You can set it on any server. Also, you can modify objects created by other developers.
Removal of server instance type	Separate environments such as development or tailoring environment, test environment, and production environments are available for promoting an install package.	There is no difference between production, development, tailoring, and QA environment. No separate environments are available out-of-the-box for promoting an install package.
Grant access to BMC Helix Innovation Studio applications.	Select the applications that the application business analyst can access and tailor from the Manage People UI in the Administration tab in BMC Helix Innovation Studio.	As an administrator, use the Application Administration Console in Mid Tier to select the required BMC Helix Innovation Studio applications that the application business analyst can access and tailor. Assign application licenses to the users.	Select the application licenses that an administrator can assign to the user to view the required applications from the Manage People UI in the Administration tab in BMC Helix Innovation Studio.	As an administrator, use the IS Application Licenses tab in Mid Tier to assign BMC Helix Innovation Studio application licenses to users, so that the users can legally use these applications. Load Foundation data in bulk to BMC Helix Innovation Studio.	BMC Helix Innovation Studio provides a Data Management Console application, to load the Foundation data in bulk.	Use the Data Management tool in Mid Tier for loading and onboarding Foundation data. For more information, see Loading Foundation data by using Data Management in AR System documentation.
Assign application licenses by using the Add or Remove license form in Mid Tier.	An administrator uses the License Users page to assign application licenses.	As an administrator, assign application licenses by using the Add or Remove license form through Mid Tier. For more information, see Adding or removing licenses in AR System documentation.
Update centralized configuration settings by using the AR System Configuration Generic UI form in Mid Tier.	An administrator uses Centralized Tenant Configuration UI to add or modify centralized configuration settings.	As an administrator, use the AR System Configuration Generic UI form on the Remedy AR System Administration Console to add or modify centralized configuration settings. Configure which attachment file types you want to disallow in your BMC Helix Innovation Studio environment.	Use the Attachment File Extensions UI in BMC Helix Innovation Studio to add or update the attachment file extension list.	Restrict users from uploading and viewing files with specific extensions in Mid Tier by using the Attachment Security tab in the AR System Administration: Server Information form. Configure incoming and outgoing mailboxes.	BMC SaaS Operations configures the incoming and outgoing mailboxes as part of your onboarding process.	As an administrator, you can configure incoming and outgoing mailboxes post installation by using the AR System Email Mailbox Configuration form in Mid Tier.
