Using log files
Use logging to verify what operations an application is performing, how the client and server are interacting, and which operations result in an error. Using logs allows you to gather information to identify the causes of performance issues or errors. If you need to contact BMC Customer Support, having the appropriate log files ready can help resolve many issues more quickly.
Each log file has a default location and a default log file name, or you can direct log output to a directory and file that you select.
You can lessen the potential performance impact of logging by using the Log Per Thread and Buffer Logged Lines configuration options. See Server-logging-modes.
